  • Solana Co-founder Raj Gokal’s personal information has been publicly posted by hackers who hacked hip-hop group Migos’s official Instagram account with a 13M following.
  • Hackers had previously asked for Gokal 40BTC as a ransom.
  • Migos’ Instagram account has since been restored to normal operation after the content was visible for over 90 minutes.

The official Instagram account of hip-hop group Migos was hacked on Monday May 26, 2025, sparking concerns of a possible link to security incidents involving major crypto platforms.

The hacker exposed sensitive personal information belonging to Solana co-founder Raj Gokal.

Andy, the co-founder of blockchain security platform “The Rollup” noted that the hackers briefly took control of the Instagram account with over 13 Million followers and posted passport scans, government-issued IDs, and other private data of Raj Gokal and another individual identified only as “Arvind.”

The hackers posted Gokal’s private contact information with threatening captions that read, “you should’ve paid the 40 BTC,” referencing a failed attempt to extort approximately $2.7 million from Gokal.

Then the hackers went on to use the account’s bio to promote a fraudulent meme coin project and shared Telegram links and audio files as part of the apparent scam.

One particularly taunting message mocked Gokal by referencing his Solana token holdings, suggesting the attackers may have had access to confidential crypto related data.

Andy confirmed that the malicious content remained visible for roughly 90 minutes before it was taken down. BTCMigos’ Instagram account has since been restored to normal operation.

Did Gokal Know?

While speculation has emerged about a potential connection to Coinbase’s recent data breach, no direct evidence currently links the two incidents.

Raj Gokal’s prior posts on X (formerly Twitter) suggest he was aware of ongoing attempts to compromise both his personal and professional accounts in the days leading up to the incident.

Since the incident, he has sarcastically tweeted on X, about the incident saying, “always remember to dress up smart for your KYC photos. you never know what kind of reach they might get on social media.”
